I’ve had pain in my right knee ever since high school, and had been told for years I would eventually need knee replacement surgery.
The pain in my knee got so bad that I wasn’t able to sit down, stand up, or ride in a car anymore. I would stay up all night because of the pain.
Before my appointment at Andrews Sports Medicine, I knew nothing about Dr. Chris Carter. My intent was to see him before being referred to another doctor for the knee replacement surgery. The pain was so bad I felt like a right knee replacement was the only way to relieve the pain I was experiencing.
During my first appointment with Dr. Carter, he mentioned the option of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. With all I would have gone through with the knee replacement surgery, I thought trying an easier alternative would be smart.
I decided to go through with the procedure and received my PRP injections at the beginning of December in 2017. Dr. Carter told me the injections would take a while to work and to see him a month later for a follow-up.
Weeks went on and there was no change in my knee, so I got ready to tell Dr. Carter I would need the knee replacement surgery. Dr. Carter ended up having to postpone my follow-up appointment for three weeks later and within that period, my injections started to kick in.
Those three weeks were a miracle…it was truly unbelievable! I was ecstatic that the pain in my knee was finally going away.
Today, I can do anything I want to do with little to no pain. Andrews Sports Medicine was always so prompt and I loved being able to go there and have my appointment without having to wait for hours. They were very courteous and professional. Every time I go to Andrews Sports Medicine, I always see Dr. Carter now.
I am so satisfied with my injections and the way they transformed my knee after years of pain. I truly have nothing bad to say about the Andrews Sports Medicine practice and had an overall very positive experience with Dr. Carter.
