My story is more like a journey through time. I have experienced back-related issues ever since my first back injury while serving in the military. For many years I was feeling great, until another injury affected my back. At that point, my days were spent in survival mode.
My daily routine was simple - get up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, sit - and then repeat all over again the next day. I was trying so hard not to do anything that would aggravate my back in order to go to work pain free.
With that said, I had 13 back surgeries prior to being referred by another physician to see Dr. Andrew Cordover at Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham. Because of my history of spine surgeries that failed to completely resolve my issue, I was skeptical that Dr. Cordover would be willing to treat me.
I scheduled my appointment with Dr. Cordover. At my appointment, he evaluated and discussed my condition with me. He explained his surgical plan that including a lumber spine fusion.
At seven weeks postop, I am feeling the best that I have felt in years. I do have some limits as I am still recovering. My friends and family have even noticed a difference. They tell me that I act differently and my response to them is because I feel better.
I am so thankful to have met Dr. Cordover and his staff. They are “beyond top notch.” Dr. Cordover was fantastic, friendly and built a relationship with me. I was highly impressed with my experience.
As the warmer weather is upon us, I am looking forward to getting back into shape and being active outside again. I will soon be cruising pain free on the road on my motorcycle or bicycle.
