I am a LONG TIME Dr. Steven R. Nichols patient. I tell people that he is next to God because he has basically repaired my whole body. I trust him with my life.
I worked at Andrews Sports Medicine for a year with one of my best friends, Donna, who worked for Dr. Nichols. I started having problems with my right shoulder in 1995 and Donna suggested I see Dr. Nichols. During my appointment, Dr. Nichols told me I had bone spurs in my right shoulder causing me pain. He went in and removed the bone spurs, scrapping the arthritis off my bone. I was so impressed with Dr. Nichols and his work that I decided to go back and see him years later for my back.
In February of 2005, I started having pain in my lower back. I made an appointment to see Dr. Nichols again and my MRI showed I had arthritis. In order for the pain to go away, I needed surgery. The procedure was scheduled for the end of the week and the process was quick and smooth. I was off of work for about eight weeks and then went back to being on my feet again with no pain.
In August of 2011, my neck started to hurt whenever I would bend it. I would get constant headaches and the pain became unbearable. Once again, I went to the practice I trusted most, Andrews Sports Medicine. Dr. Nichols told me that I had a herniated disc and that I needed a plate, screws, and spacers inserted in my spine. The day after surgery, I felt AMAZING. My neck didn’t hurt anymore and I was able to get back to doing my everyday tasks after 12 weeks. Everything healed exactly how it should have. I truly have never been displeased with Dr. Nichols and his work.
In October of 2013, I started feeling pain in my left shoulder. I would have flare-ups where I could hardly lift my arm up some days. It was almost like my arm was frozen! I went back to see Dr. Nichols for surgery. He told me that I had torn the top muscle and that I needed my arthritis cleaned up again.
My left shoulder surgery was the most painful surgery out of all the procedures he had done. My shoulder was so messed up and I had terrible scar tissue. However, like always, Dr. Nichols got the job done. It was a slower process, but my shoulder feels amazing now.
In August of 2017, I was vacationing in Key West, FL and fell on my knee. It was bruised so I iced it to keep the swelling down. The pain got worse over time and I would get terrible flare ups. It was impossible to get comfortable and do daily tasks. I went in for an MRI at Andrews Sports Medicine and it showed that I had a torn meniscus. When Dr. Nichols tried moving my knee, it wouldn’t move from left to right. I ended up having surgery on February 28, 2018 and after I came home from the hospital, I didn’t even have to take pain meds because my knee felt so much better.
Dr. Nichols has truly repaired my whole body and I have had an amazing experience with him and his staff. I have no regrets from surgery because of the great outcomes.
Dr. Nichols is so kind and is not pushy about surgery, which I really like. He and his staff go all out to do everything they can for you. He takes time to explain everything to his patients and lets you know that you’re welcome to call him anytime. I love him to death! He’s next to God in my book. Just so sweet and kind.
Today, I’m able to go camping with my grandkids and do things I couldn’t do before. I recommend Dr. Nichols to everyone and I think so highly of him and his staff. I just know I’m always going to be taken care of. He’s the #1 doctor there is!
