Marcus A. Rothermich, MD joined our orthopaedic surgery team of physicians in October 2019. Dr. Rothermich treats patients at our Cullman, Trussville and Winfield locations as well as St. Vincent's Birmingham.
Michael K. Ryan, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon. He specializes in sports medicine surgery, hip preservation surgery (including hip arthroscopy for treatment of hip impingement and labral tears, treatment of hip dysplasia, and other joint preserving surgeries for adolescents and adults), as well as knee and hip replacements.
Doctor James R. Andrews is one of the founding members of Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He is also co- founder of the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) a non-profit institute dedicated to injury prevention, education and research in orthopaedic and sports medicine. Doctor Andrews continues to serve as Chairman of the Board and Medical Director of ASMI. Doctor Andrews is also a founding partner and Medical Director of the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Florida. He is President and Chairman of the Board of the Andrews Research and Education Foundation also dedicated to prevention, education and research at the Andrews Institute. He has mentored more than 314 orthopaedic/sports medicine Fellows and more than 84 primary care sports medicine Fellows who have trained under him through these Sports Medicine Fellowship Programs.
E. Lyle Cain, Jr., MD specializes in arthroscopy and treatment of sports-related injuries, as well as open and arthroscopic treatment of knee, shoulder and elbow injuries. In addition, he is certified to treat cartilage injuries in the knee with articular cartilage implantation and meniscal transplantation.
Jeffrey R. Dugas, MD, treats all types of orthopaedic sports injuries, including injuries of the shoulder, elbow and knee. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and the sub-specialty of sports medicine.
Benton A. Emblom, MD, specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He has subspecialty expertise in hip preservation surgery and hip reconstruction.
Dr. Goldstein is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has presented papers and instructional course lectures for the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has served on the Technology Committee of the Arthroscopy Association since 2005. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, and general orthopedic surgery.
Wayne McGough, Jr. MD treats all types of orthopaedic sports injuries, including injuries of the shoulder, elbow and knee. His research interests include tendon and ligament biomechanics, preventing venous thromboembolism in orthopaedics and meniscal repairs. Dr. McGough performs surgery at St. Vincent's Birmingham and St. Vincent's One Nineteen.
