Medical Icon Broken Ankle

Many thanks for the most excellent care given me, following my adventuresome ankle fracture in March. From my very first call to your office, which Katie handled with compassion, promptness, and professionalism; through surgery; through cast changes and check-ups; through referral to a very gifted and encouraging physical therapist, you and your staff have set the bar for orthopedic excellence. I am very grateful to have been returned the use of my left ankle.

When my tiny, little misstep happened in Texas, I figured it would be easy to get this taken care of at home in Tuscaloosa. My daughter, Jennifer, a UA employee and a born researcher, soon realized she knew five very active women over 55 who had experienced ankle fractures in the last couple of years. Each one is back on her feet, with good recovery, strength and range of motion, doing what she loves, without pain or limitation... Jennifer discovered the common denominator in each case was Dr. Norman Waldrop with Andrews Sports Medicine at St. Vincent's. With her personal research, it made perfect sense to be tended by the surgeon who could give me the best chance of full recovery. I'm thanking God for you and for the skills He has planted and honed in you through your education and specialized experience, to help people get their lives back after large and small mishaps.

So, three days after slipping and hearing the word "trimalleolar" for the first time in my life, I called your office. Without a problem, without questions and delays about what insurance I have, Katie found a way to schedule me during your very first day back in the office after your trip to Mexico. I am grateful indeed to have been guided to your competent team at Andrews.
