Carolyn Carter

Prattville, AL

My daughter, Carolyn, who recently completed her junior year at Prattville Christian Academy, plays 3rd base for the Lady Panthers softball team. Unfortunately, she started experiencing elbow pain towards the end of the 2018 regular season.

We made the decision to reach out to Andrews Sports Medicine and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ricardo Colberg at the practice's Pelham satellite location. Dr. Colberg evaluated and diagnosed Carolyn with overuse syndrome. He recommended some rest and administered an injection to help alleviate Carolyn's elbow pain so she could continue to play the game she loves.

The following week, in a playoff game against Gordo, Carolyn helped the Panthers seal a come-from-behind victory over Gordo High School. Prattville Christian trailed 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Carolyn hit a grand slam on a 1-2 count, scoring 4 runs. For the game, Carolyn went 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in runs on a double in the first and the walk-off grand slam in the seventh inning, and the Panthers advanced to the AHSAA state tournament.

The following week, the Panthers continued riding the momentum, winning the AHSAA Class 3A State Softball Championship 7-1 over Geneva High School at Lagoon Park Softball Complex in Montgomery.

Our family is grateful to Dr. Colberg and Andrews Sports Medicine for providing great care, when needed most.

Lastly, I am a previous patient of Andrews Sports Medicine myself. Dr. Lyle Cain performed a slap repair and tenodesis surgery on me years ago, so I know how good the group is and knew this is where Carolyn would receive the best care.
