Dr. Benton Emblom and his staff are phenomenal. My 15 year-old son tore his ACL, PCL, MCL and medial meniscus in a Friday night football game.

On the Saturday morning after the injury, we saw Dr. Ryan Palmer at EAMC. Once it was confirmed Max had a torn PCL, Dr. Palmer said he didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery and he referred us to Dr. Emblom. Dr. Palmer's honesty was overwhelming.

Before going to Andrews we were told Max's chances of playing sports again was slim to none. Once we saw Dr. Emblom he assured us Max would come back.

Dr. Emblom performed surgery two weeks later and we stayed the night at St. Vincent's Birmingham. They treated my high school student, as well as my husband and I, like we were the most important people in the world.

Three months later my boy’s knee is rock solid. He isn't back to sports yet, but Dr. Emblom feels confident he will be in three more months. That's a 6-month recovery, when initially we thought 8 months to a year with such a bad injury.

I will forever be grateful to Dr. Benton Emblom, his staff, the staff at ATI Physical Therapy and St. Vincent’s Hospital Ortho unit. They all made a tragic time in our life easier and we will be forever grateful.
