Parker Watts, PA-C, is a physician assistant at Andrews Sports Medicine, working alongside orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon Dr. Marcus Rothermich in the clinic, operating room, and through sports event coverage.
He sees patients at Andrews Sports Medicine clinic locations in Birmingham, Cullman, and Trussville, Alabama.
Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, Parker graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences on the Pre-Physician Assistant track.
He went on to earn his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Samford University before becoming a nationally-certified physician assistant.
Prior to joining Andrews Sports Medicine, Parker worked at OS1 Orthopedic and Sports Injury Clinic, where he evaluated and treated a wide range of non-surgical musculoskeletal and sports injuries in a busy orthopaedic urgent care setting.
His clinical background also includes high-volume urgent care, chronic pain management, and experience as an EMT while in college, giving him a strong foundation in hands-on patient care and the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.
At Andrews Sports Medicine, Parker supports Dr. Rothermich’s orthopaedic sports medicine practice, caring for patients with shoulder, elbow, and knee injuries and assisting with arthroscopic treatment and surgery.
He also provides sideline sports medicine coverage for John Carroll Catholic High School and Mortimer Jordan High School, helping care for student-athletes throughout the athletic season.
Parker’s own athletic background shapes the way he connects with patients. A former high school and college athlete, he has remained active through endurance racing and brings a competitive, return-to-sport mindset to his approach to patient care and recovery.
Outside the clinic, Parker enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary, and their daughter, Annie. He also enjoys being outdoors, playing golf, watching sports, and movies.
