Matthew B. Beidleman, MD, is a fellowship-trained, non-surgical sports medicine and orthopaedic physician at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center.
He specializes in diagnosing and treating sports injuries, joint pain and musculoskeletal conditions, helping athletes and active individuals recover from injury and return to the activities they love without surgery whenever possible.
A Homewood, Alabama native, Dr. Beidleman provides non-operative orthopaedic and sports medicine care for patients in Hoover, Birmingham and communities throughout Central Alabama.
In 2026, he was named Best Sports Medicine Physician in Hoover’s Magazine’s Best of 2026, recognizing his commitment to providing high-quality sports medicine care to athletes and active individuals throughout the Hoover community.
Dr. Beidleman treats patients at Andrews Sports Medicine’s Hoover – Highway 150 and Birmingham clinics, including same-day and next-day appointments for acute injuries.
Education & Sports Medicine Training
Dr. Beidleman earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama and his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. He completed his family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville, where he was selected to serve as Chief Resident.
Following residency, Dr. Beidleman returned to Birmingham to complete a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Andrews Sports Medicine, accredited by the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI). His advanced fellowship training focused on the evaluation and non-surgical treatment of athletic injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
