Dr. Matthew Beidleman is a fellowship-trained, non-surgical sports medicine physician at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, providing expert care to patients in Hoover, Birmingham, and surrounding Central Alabama communities.

Dr. Beidleman specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, joint pain, and musculoskeletal conditions, helping athletes and active individuals return to peak performance without surgery whenever possible.

A Homewood, Alabama native, Dr. Beidleman completed his undergraduate degree at The University of Alabama and earned his medical degree from University of Alabama School of Medicine. in Birmingham. He went on to complete his family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville, where he was selected as Chief Resident. He then returned to Birmingham to complete the prestigious Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Andrews Sports Medicine, accredited by the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI).

Dr. Beidleman treats a wide range of conditions including acute sports injuries, ligament sprains, muscle strains, fractures, tendon injuries, and osteoarthritis, as well as non-sports-related orthopaedic conditions. His clinical approach emphasizes early diagnosis, non-operative treatment, and individualized recovery plans, utilizing advanced techniques such as:

  • Ultrasound-guided injections and procedures
  • Orthobiologic treatments (PRP and regenerative medicine)
  • Comprehensive injury evaluation and rehabilitation planning

As a trusted sports medicine physician in the Hoover area, Dr. Beidleman serves as a team physician for McAdory High School, Bessemer Academy, and Pleasant Grove High School, providing on-field coverage and injury management for local athletes.

He treats patients at the Hoover – Highway 150 clinic and Birmingham location, offering same-day and next-day appointments for acute injuries, ensuring timely access to care when it matters most.

Dr. Beidleman is committed to staying at the forefront of sports medicine through ongoing education and collaboration with the nationally recognized physicians at Andrews Sports Medicine. His patient-centered philosophy focuses on helping individuals of all ages—from youth athletes to weekend warriors—overcome injury and achieve Victory Over Injury®.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Beidleman enjoys supporting Alabama Crimson Tide athletics and spending time with his wife, Kate, and their golden retriever, Franklin.
