ANDREWS SPORTS MEDICINE & ORTHOPAEDIC CENTER WELCOMES TWO NEW SURGEONS

- Christopher M. Beaumont, MD & Charles C. Pitts, Jr., MD join practice -

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center announced today Christopher M. Beaumont, MD and Charles C. Pitts, Jr., MD have joined the Birmingham, AL practice.

Dr. Beaumont and Dr. Pitts are both 2021 graduates of the orthopedic surgery residency program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following their residency graduations, both surgeons spent the last year completing fellowship training in their respective, orthopaedic sub-specialties in Tampa, FL and Charlotte, NC.

They both made lasting impressions and connected well with our team of doctors. Once Drs. Beaumont and Pitts both made us aware of their intended sub-specialties, we started the interview process and determined they were the perfect surgeons to help us expand our Andrews Sports Medicine Hand & Wrist and Foot & Ankle Centers.”

As a fellowship-trained, orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist & upper extremity surgery, Dr. Beaumont treats patients with disorders, instability, injuries and arthritis of the hand, wrist, forearm and upper extremity. He is experienced in the latest and most up-to-date techniques regarding these complex and intricate parts of the body.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Beaumont graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Georgia. He received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He went on to complete an internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by a hand & upper extremity fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, FL.

Charles C. Pitts, Jr., MD

Dr. Charles C. Pitts, Jr., MD is a fellowship-trained, orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot & ankle surgery. Dr. Pitts has extensive training in both general and orthopaedic surgery and complex sports medicine techniques. He welcomes the opportunity to care for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric age groups. Additionally, he is able to help patients suffering from a wide variety of pathology, including: sports injuries, trauma and fractures, congenital and acquired deformities, ankle and foot arthritis and many more.

Dr. Pitts graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in neurobiology from Harvard University. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Pitts returned to Birmingham and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by a foot & ankle fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC.
