Christopher M. Beaumont, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic hand surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and upper extremity conditions. He treats patients at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Beaumont provides expert, compassionate care for patients experiencing hand and wrist pain, upper extremity injuries, and nerve disorders.
His clinical expertise includes fractures and dislocations of the hand, wrist, and forearm, ligament and tendon injuries, arthritis, trigger finger, tendonitis, Dupuytren’s contracture, and ganglion cysts. He also routinely treats nerve compression syndromes such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, and radial tunnel syndrome.
Dr. Beaumont has also received the Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Surgery of the Hand, a distinction for board-certified orthopaedic surgeons who have demonstrated advanced qualifications and expertise in hand surgery. This certification reflects additional fellowship training and a practice characterized by a high volume and diversity of complex hand and upper extremity cases, as well as meaningful contributions to the field of hand surgery.
With advanced training in microsurgical and minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Beaumont is dedicated to helping patients restore motion, strength, and function to the upper extremity — from the fingertips to the shoulder.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Beaumont serves as faculty for the UAB–ASMI Orthopaedic Hand & Upper Extremity Fellowship, where he helps train the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons. He is also a preceptor for the Samford University Physician Assistant Program, mentoring future healthcare providers through hands-on clinical education.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Beaumont earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Georgia and his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at UAB Hospital alongside fellow Andrews Sports Medicine surgeon Dr. Charles C. Pitts, Jr., followed by a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Beaumont and his wife, Morgan, reside in Vestavia Hills, where they are raising their three young sons. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family, being involved in his local community, and supporting youth sports throughout the Birmingham area.
