The Andrews Sports Medicine Student Observation Program offers aspiring healthcare professionals the chance to experience the fast-paced environment of a nationally recognized sports medicine and orthopaedic practice. Designed for college students — and select high school students enrolled in health-related courses — this program provides valuable firsthand exposure to the clinical, surgical, and administrative aspects of sports medicine. Participants observe our physicians and staff as they deliver world-class care to athletes and active patients, gaining insight into the teamwork and expertise that define our practice.
If you’re passionate about pursuing a career in orthopaedics or sports medicine, we invite you to learn more about our Student Observation Program and submit a request to participate.
We offer two primary opportunities: our Marketing & Public Relations Internship for college students interested in communications, media relations, and sports marketing, and our Clinical Observation Program for students exploring healthcare, athletic training, physical therapy, or orthopaedic medicine.
Our internships are designed for college students who are pursuing degrees in communications, marketing, or related fields. Observation opportunities are open to undergraduate, graduate, and select high school students with a demonstrated interest in healthcare or sports medicine.
Program length varies by opportunity. Marketing internships typically align with academic semesters (spring, summer, or fall) and run for approximately 10–12 weeks. Clinical observations may range from a few days to several weeks, depending on scheduling and availability.
Our internship and observation opportunities are educational experiences and are generally unpaid. However, participants gain valuable real-world exposure, mentorship from our professional team, and insight into one of the nation’s leading sports medicine practices.
Students will gain first-hand exposure to the fast-paced environment of a multidisciplinary orthopaedic practice, develop professional communication and patient-interaction skills, and build a deeper understanding of how sports medicine professionals collaborate to deliver world-class care.
